Maintenance of updateability
PBS Logitek Dienstleistungen GmbH provides logistics and IT services within the Group and is responsible for industry-specific merchandise management systems and eCommerce solutions. PBS relies on the Intershop Commerce Suite as its eCommerce platform. The B2B eCommerce solution sells stationery, office supplies and stationery to retailers and business customers. In addition, the SKRIBO multi-channel solution offers PBS retailers the opportunity to generate additional sales via the Internet with private end customers.
As part of the "Maintaining values, optimizing updateability" initiative, Smart Commerce supported PBS Logitek from Wels (Austria) and its partner companies in maintaining the updateability of its extensive installations of eCommerce solutions from Intershop. Intershop updates offer many benefits, including new features and enhancements.
It is therefore in the user's interest to use the latest Intershop versions. Smart Commerce ensures that updates for customer projects do not degenerate into huge, expensive projects, but can be implemented within a manageable framework. Guidelines are used to ensure that in-house developments based on Intershop Commerce Suite can be updated as efficiently as possible.
