Mister Spex.

Mister Spex GmbH is Europe's leading online optician. Through its website, the Berlin-based company offers not only contact lenses but also the most comprehensive range of directly available brand glasses and sunglasses at attractive conditions throughout Europe. In addition to price transparency and price savings for prescription glasses, customers also benefit from free services such as eye tests and eyewear adjustments, as Mister Spex already cooperates with over 550 local opticians in a partner network in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. In the Mister Spex service team, trained opticians advise customers by telephone or e-mail. The company has its own optician's workshop in Berlin, where the final production and quality control of the glasses takes place. The good quality of the glasses was confirmed in December 2014 by Stiftung Warentest, which named Mister Spex one of the best opticians tested (test 1/2015, p.86 ff.).

Mister Spex has more than two million satisfied customers throughout Europe. The company currently employs over 400 people.

Updateability of Intershop 7

Mister Spex has been using the eCommerce software Intershop Commerce Suite for its online shops for many years. Migrations to the latest updates are essential to keep the software up to date with the latest features. At a workshop on "Smart Migration Developer Rules for Fast Intershop 7 Updates," Smart Commerce presented Mister Spex developers an efficient update strategy with Intershop 7, provided a guideline for easy updatability, and set out important rules for developers, tools, and APIs. In addition to an in-depth knowledge of the technologies used and hints on the correct implementation of migration, the workshop also developed the correct migration strategy.

Smart Commerce ensures at these workshops that updates for customer projects do not degenerate into huge, expensive projects, but can be implemented within a manageable framework. Guidelines are used to ensure that in-house developments based on Intershop Commerce Suite can be updated as efficiently as possible. Mister Spex subsequently migrated successfully to Intershop 7.8.
